The Main window of the SSPDataq program is where you control the photometer and acquire data. All functions of the SSP photometer can be controlled including: Gain, FIlter, Integration Time, Intervals and Counting mode. Other data used in the reduction process is also entered in this window. Both slow and fast data acquisition modes are supported. With the SSP-5, events can be resolved to 2 milliseconds.

Once a complete raw data file is obtained, it can be processed into finished standard B and V magnitudes with the Photometry selection. Means are avaialble to store and manage the observer's program and comparison stars. Extinction and transformation coefficients are easily computerd and displayed in graphical form for better interpretation. New coefficients can be obtained nightly and used or old ones could be appied to the raw data.

The final reduction produces both nightly averaged or time based V magnitude and B-V color index. The observer can then append the data to the variable star data file for eventual completion of a time based light curve. This program is limited to only B and V magnitudes and is rigorously based on the methods described in the book "Astronomical Photometry" by A. Henden and R. Kaitchuck for differential (not all sky) photometry.

The progam is freeware and the integrated HELP file address installation and use.
