Before You Order Your Transmissometer...
- Of course, the technical manual and papers in the Publication pages need to be read and understood. The LPV requires much advanced preparation if the installation is going to be successful. Call Optec and we will review your application and requirements.
- The standard transmitter side usually consists of the transmitter (#86210) mounted inside the All Weather Environmental Enclosure (#86670) which in turn is placed on the Permanent Mounting Pier (#86670). In addition, the NEMA enclosed power supply (#86905) is used to power the unit. Connectors parts are supplied with the unit for the user to make the power cable going from the enclosure to the power supply. Optec can make this cable for a slight additional charge if requested.
- Other items to consider for the transmitter are: extra lamps (#86252), Field Tripod (#86230) for calibration, heat regulated window (#86679) for the enclosure to prevent fogging.
- The standard receiver side usually consists of the receiver (#86205) mounted inside the All Weather Environmental Enclosure (#86670) which in turn is placed on the Permanent Mounting Pier (#86670). This arrangement is only compatible with the 58mm f/6 telescope (#86220) which is adequate for path lengths up to 7 km. The heat regulated window (#86679) for the enclosure should also be considered if fogging is going to be a problem on the glass.
- The receiver computer controller does not go into the enclosure and has to be mounted in a controlled enviroment space near the data logging equipment. Connector parts are supplied as standard for the user to construct a cable to connect the enclosure to the receiver controller. Optec can make this cable for a slight additional charge if requested.
- Since the computer controller is located in an inside space, the 10A Switching Power Supply (#88905) not mounted in a NEMA box is adequate for power.
- For calibration purposes, the Calibration ND FIlter and Holder (#86225) is also necessary. However, for multiple instrument purchases, only one Calibration ND FIlter is necessary.
